He started his career (1986), in the national ballet of Cuba, a company in which he developed an important career as a first dancer, and Partner for 7 years for Alicia Alonso.
He finished his studies with the gold medal, the prize for the best partner and the prize for the best couple at the National Ballet and Modern Dance Festival in Havana. He made his debut as a member of the Cuban national ballet in 1986.
She dances for the first time with Alicia Alonso in Alicia Alonso's ballet choreography "Dido Abandonada" at the Bolshoi Theater, and in the 90s she participates in the International Festival in Edinburgh, where the National Ballet of Cuba obtains the International Critics Award.
He was awarded the First Ballerina category of the National Ballet of Cuba.
English National Ballet invites him to dance the role of Romeo in the "Romeo and Juliet" version of Rudolf Nureyev, in the presence of Princess Diana of Wales. He also danced with Alicia Alonso as a partner 50 years after the stage debut in "Giselle" at the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico.
Roland Petit creates for Lienz Chang the role of The Man in Black in "Le Lac des Cygnes et Ses Máléfices", which brought him the highest recognition from critics in France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the USA, emphasizing as one of the great figures of classical and contemporary ballet.
His amazing technique characterizes him as an exceptional classical dancer and a skilled partner and allowed him to dance all the main roles of the great classical repertoire such as: Albrecht in "Giselle", Sigfrido in "Swan Lake", Basilio and the sword in "Don Quixote", Prince Désiré in "Sleeping Beauty", Franz in "Coppelia", Gustav in "Cinderella", Colin in "La Fille Mal Gardée", and others. And also as a partner of Alicia Alonso in other ballets such as "Edipus Rey", "Poema del Fuego" and "Poema del Amor y del Mar" by Alberto Méndez with Rudolf Nureyev.

Throughout his career as a ballet teacher or choreographer assistant he has worked with great ballerinas such as: Olesia Novikova and Friedeman Vogel, Svetlana Zakarova, Roberto Bolle, Olesia Novikova and Leonid Sarafanov, Natalia Osipova, Petra Conti, Lusymay Di Stefano, Roberto Bolle, Massimo Murru, Ivan Vasiliev, Claudio Coviello, Mick Zeni, Nino Sutera, Eris Nezha, Aurélie Dupont, Hervé Moreau, Hector Berlioz and many others.
