Anastasia Dunets, born in St. Petersburg, Russia, received her ballet education at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, where she completed her pedagogical training. In 1988 she made her first commitment as a ballerina at the Mariinsky Theater Ballet Company in Sankt Petersburg, Russia.

From 1997 to 2000 she she was a ballet dancer at the Staatsoper in Berlin. From 2000 to 2012 Anastasia Dunets was a ballet dancer at the Finnish National Ballet in Helsinki, Finland.. Since 2007 she has also worked as a teacher at the Finnish National Ballet School and the Helsinki Dance Institute.

Since September 2015 she has been a professional ballet professor at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in Canada and an international guest professor.
