Revolve Dance Festival

2023 Summer Edition

Ballet intensive workshop - Bucharest 18-30 august

Now in its 13th edition, Revolve Dance Festival returns for the summer edition with its iconic workshop and the unique Stars Gala.

After two weeks of intensive training, the young dancers of the Revolve Dance workshop presented an extraordinary performance divided into three parts. The first part, Open Class Revolve Dance, featured all participants enrolled in the summer workshop. The second part showcased the Revolve Dance 2023 Ambassadors, young dancers with outstanding international achievements who have been supported by this workshop. Among them were Rebecca Rudolf, a dancer at Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich, who trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School and the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Horia Bucur, a nationally and internationally awarded ballet dancer at the Bucharest National Opera, Alecsia Lăzărescu, a Jeune Espoire laureate at Prix de Lausanne and Hope Award winner at Youth America Grand Prix Barcelona 2020, and Rebeca Zamfir, a Hope Award winner and Youth America Grand Prix finalist in Tampa 2023.

The highlight of the Stars Gala was a breathtaking performance by Iana Salenko and Marian Walter, principal dancers of the Berlin State Opera, who performed a suite from the classical ballet La Bayadère. They were joined by promising young ballet talents selected during the workshop and trained under the guidance of Stanislav Belyeavsky, principal dancer at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, the Berlin State Opera, and the Finnish National Theatre.
